Background

The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan has introduced a recruitment campaign providing doctors and nurses with an employment chance in the Italian province of Sardinia. The programme’s purpose is to recruit 100 medical staff annually to fill vacancies in emergency medicine and nursing.

The programme targets emergency medicine doctors who have a master’s, doctoral or equivalent qualification, as well as nurses with a bachelor’s degree. The applicants are supposed to be under 50 years old, but those who are under 40 will get preference. Experience is desirable but not obligatory.

Selected candidates will complete a seven-month online Italian language course before starting work. The training will be organised in partnership with the University of Perugia and can be attended remotely, allowing participants to study from any location. The Migration Agency will fully fund the language course.

After completing the training, candidates will become eligible for employment in Sardinia. The monthly starting salary may go up to €3,500, then the earnings can climb to a range of €4,000 – €5,000 from overtime gigs and night-shift allowances.

The jobs include a standard 38-hour work week. Employers will also provide accommodation, lunch and medical insurance, making the employment package more attractive for international recruits.

Interested candidates can apply through the Migration Agency’s online platform and obtain further details through the agency’s helpline.

The latest recruitment drive follows earlier initiatives that promoted employment opportunities for Uzbek workers in Italy’s construction sector. The program reflects continued cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy to create jobs abroad for skilled professionals.
