Lou Baverso’s Appointment
Allegheny Health Network( AHN) has named Lou Baverso President and Chief Operating Officer of its sanitarium division as of September 8. Baverso is a expert leader who preliminarily served as Susurrus at the University of Alabama at Birmingham( UAB) Health System, where he oversaw inpatient operations, itinerant care, and strategic system growth. His leadership involved unifying a five- sanitarium network worth further than$ 450 million. Baverso has also served as UPMC’s Vice President of Operations for its flag boat Pittsburgh hospitals and request President of UPMC’s Central Pennsylvania request. For AHN, he’ll be responsible for day- to- day sanitarium operations, structure, and planning and will further support the association’s focus on integrated, case- centered care.
Role Promotion of Dr. Dean Moukamal
Dr. Ezz-Eldin “Dean” Moukamal was appointed Chief Quality Officer after serving as interim Chief Quality Officer since 2024. Additionally, he served for seven years as Chief Medical Officer of Forbes Hospital. During his interim period, Moukamal rolled out the system-wide Living Health Clinical Model that improved quality and patient safety throughout AHN’s system. His work resulted in four AHN hospitals being awarded “A” safety grades by The Leapfrog Group, with six consecutive top ratings for Forbes Hospital. He also navigated emergency care through national IV fluid shortages effectively, demonstrating his leadership through critical times.
